You found the perfect wedding dress. It may have been the first dress you tried on, or maybe you lost count. But the important thing is, it’s perfect! Now you may struggling with the best way to accessorize.
In this post I will cover how best to accessorize a sweetheart neckline wedding gown. So if you have a sweetheart neckline, you are in the right place!
A sweetheart neckline is one of the most versatile and feminine necklines around. It refers to the lines the front of the dress makes on your chest. A dress with a sweetheart neckline can have straps, sleeves, or be strapless.
The definition of a sweetheart neckline is: a neckline on a dress or blouse that is low at the front and shaped like the top of a stylized heart.

The best way to accessorize it can depend on a number of factors:
- How you envision your bridal look
- Your plan for your hair style
- The style of jewelry you prefer: dainty, statement, glamorous, etc…
- The specific style of your dress: how ornate, detailed, beaded, etc
1. Your Ideal Bridal Look
Most brides start to think about their bridal look when starting their hair and make-up trials.
However, if you can, I suggest to start thinking about your accessories a little sooner. This will give you more time to bring your ideal bridal look together.
Plus, you can then bring all the accessories you want to wear on your big day to the hair and make up trial. This is will help your stylist complete your perfect bridal look and prevent any surprises on the wedding day.
Visualization Tip:
To start, I want you to close your eyes and picture yourself looking in the mirror on your wedding day completely put together. You are just about to head to the ceremony. What accessories are you wearing? Try picturing your hair accessories, necklace, earrings, and bracelet. What are you wearing and what are you not? This can give you a starting point for what you will want to look for or have created. Keep this vision in mind as you move on to the next 3 factors.

2. Hair style
Your hair styles can matter for a few reasons. First, you want to make sure the hair accessories you have chosen will work with the hair style you have your heart set on. So, be sure to bring the accessories to your hair trial. Second, the hair style you choose can dictate they amount or type of jewelry you will need to look completely put together.
Up-Dos
Up-dos or a low loose side bun are very beautiful. However, an up-do can leave your decolletage (the area of a woman’s body that is exposed when a garment with a low neckline is worn) too bare and in need of necklace. So if you are planning to wear your hair up, then I wholeheartedly suggest a necklace. A necklace and earring set would be even better!
Hair Down
If you are wearing your hair down, a necklace and earring set is still an excellent choice. However, if you don’t want to wear a necklace, then an alternative would be statement earrings. Statement earrings will bring attention to your face drawing it away from your decolletage.

3. Your Jewelry Style
What kind of jewelry do you like? On a regular basis or for special occasions do you wear dainty, statement, subtle or “bling” type jewelry?
Whatever style you like, it is best to stick with it. This way you are the best version of yourself and not someone else on your big day.
Don’t forget about color! Are you planning a colorful wedding? If you are, this is the perfect chance to tie everything together with your jewelry.

4. Your Wedding Dress
The jewelry you pick has to complement your dress. By this I mean that if you love statement jewelry but you chose a dress with a heavily beaded bodice, then go with statement earrings and bring the attention up to your face.
What if you have an all over lace dress? Well you get to inject your personality into your jewelry.

Very useful suggestions!
I also want to add: don’t over-accessorize. If you want to make a statement, choose one part of the body to accentuate with a large piece.
