As we are gearing up for 2016, we say goodbye to 2015. With January comes a new year and a new color. Last year we were graced with Marsala – a rich, warm tone that was perfect for the colder seasons. Now it’s time to look toward spring with our 2016 color of the year.

For the first time Pantone has chosen 2 colors! These colors are from a softer and calmer palette than the past 8 years. Pantone says that our country needs the calm embrace and sense of balance to deal with our modern day stresses. It’s also sticking to traditional gender rules with a combined color combo.

rose quartz and serenity

Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.

As for me, I have already started working with rose quartz to create some delicate jewelry pieces. However, my homework is to find gem stones, crystals and elements to use for serenity.

Your Turn!

What do you think of the color combo? Do you have a favorite of the two?

Head over to Instagram and join the party…. Comment with your favorite, and that will be the first color I use for an inspired jewelry piece.
