Real Bride Spotlight: Bridal Jewelry
Katie chose a stunning wedding dress with a beaded trim along the sweetheart neckline. She wanted to make sure her jewelry could stand up to this dress without stealing the spotlight.
Problem: Wanted jewelry to add the perfect touch without taking away from the dress. Also wanted bridesmaid jewelry for their bridal party gifts.
Solution: Created a bridal jewelry set matching the beaded trim on her sweetheart neckline. In addition we created bridesmaid jewelry in her accent color.
During our consultation Katie showed me pictures of her dress and the beaded details. We talked about creating a cluster style necklace to match her dress, and she liked a similar necklace I had made in a clustered style. Since my goal is to make the bride the perfect custom piece for her wedding, we discussed how to take the style Katie liked and adapt it to make it fit in with her wedding. In this case, we replaced the gold with silver, swapped the blue crystal for clear, and created a more tapered look. The necklace and bracelet were created with clear, silver and white crystals clustered together in the center and fading out towards the ends. The earrings were made using the crystal pendant, white and silver crystals.
Another benefit to custom jewelry is being able to accommodate special requests. Katie wanted to include a family memento: her grandma’s turtle charm that she wears everyday as a necklace. We added the turtle charm to her bracelet so she could have it with her on this momentous occasion. I attached it in a way so that after the wedding she could remove it and put it back on her necklace without harming the bracelet.
Bridal Hair Accessories
Katie wanted to wear her hair up and have her veil attached to a low bun. So, in addition to her jewelry, we created matching hair pins with the clear, white and silver crystals. Once she took her veil out, she still had some details for these kinds of shots!
Blush Bridesmaid Jewelry
Katie chose two of her closest friends to stand by her on her wedding day. They each got to choose the dress they wore as long as it was blue. It didn’t even have to be the same blue! Because of this we made their jewelry using her accent color, blush. The jewelry set included earrings and a delicate necklace made with opaque pink crystals on silver chain.
Thank you Katie! It was so much fun creating this jewelry for your wedding day. I hope it was everything you could have hoped for. Don’t forget to wear it again on every anniversary!
