Some of my best ideas come from sudden inspiration and necessity. This is why I almost never say no!
I got a text from my friend Stephanie from Farrell Photography, and she told me they were doing a photo shoot and needed some jewelry for the model, Andra, to wear with the wedding dress. Did I have anything they could borrow? I said, “Absolutely, send me pic of the dress and I will have something ready for you in a couple of days!”
Before: Inspiration and Design
After looking at the photo of this wedding dress, I immediately sat down and starting laying out my design. I wanted the necklace to consist mostly of pearls and crystals. However, I imagined the slightest touch of blue, so I included pale blue crystals as well.
As you can see in the layout image, I envisioned a clustering of the the pearls and crystals with three pear-shaped crystal drops. As I created the piece, it changed slightly, but only by adding more crystals and pearls for a fuller clustering and using a smaller link chain. I also added a few pearls within the chain to separate the clusters and to fade the design up into the chain.
Since the necklace is the statement, the earrings are just gold posts with the same crystal drops. The hair accessories (a headband and hair comb) are lovely additions to complete the whole look. Those pieces are made with just clear crystals and pearls. Only the necklace has the subtle blue crystals.
After: Finished Look
Thank you so much to Farrell Photography for allowing me to be part of their photo shoot and the lovely Andra Mortensen for modeling the pieces so well! These pieces are now available in my online store.

Thanks for visiting Holly! I appreciate your kind words.
It is always so special to have something from the heart. I love how much thought you put into your pieces.
I can’t say enough about how much I love this job. I get to be creative and make brides happy at the same time! Thanks for stopping by!
Lovely Jewelry Emily! I love the colors and I think you got perfect fit for this dress. Well done!
Thank you Eva! Even I was pleasantly surprised how well it turned out. I had only a small picture to go on.
Elegant with sophisticated understatement is what came to my mind when I saw the pieces that you have created,Emily. Coming from a culture where I dress in both traditional and Western attire, I look out for pieces that would work with both attires and you have nailed it! The best part is that the bride can use these pieces together and separately even afterwards. Thank you for sharing with us.
Thank you Vatsala! I always wonder about how my jewelry might be viewed by other cultures. I do always tell my brides to be sure and wear their jewelry again for every anniversary. It becomes a very special heirloom of their own!
That necklace looks amazing, Emily! Excellent jewelry pieces, how lovely!
Thank you Delia! I had a blast making it! I hope it finds a home with someone soon.
